With the introduction of the Scimitar SE5, Reliant left behind the older cars underpinnings which the previous Scimitar had shared with the Daimler Dart and created a new front suspension and braking system. This new design borrowed heavily from the Triumph TR4-6 and improved the brakes and handling but by modern standards the stopping power of this updated system now leaves a bit to be desired.
Because of the common elements with the Triumph TR range, we can now offer a vented, four pot brake conversion for the Scimitar GTE, GTC and Middlebridge derivatives. This will fit all models from the SE5 onward and offers the benefit of a vented 284 x 22mm rotor and a lightweight four pot caliper.
